SPORTING LEGENDS LINE UP FOR SPARKS RACE DAY Stars from the world of sport are lining up to support the annual Sparks Race Day, to be held this year at Kempton Park race course on Monday 22nd September. Now in its second year, the event is hosted by leading serviced office company Avanta, and brings together the property industry for an afternoon’s top class racing, whilst raising money for the charity Sparks.
England rugby legend Jason Leonard OBE, the country’s most capped player of all time, has pledged his support, along with one of racing’s all-time greats, Richard Dunwoody MBE. Both personalities will be attending the event, with more big names expected to be confirmed ahead of the date.
This year’s event is expected to be bigger and better than last year’s inaugural race day, when over 250 guests from companies including Ballymore, Kenmore, Nationwide Commercial, Lambert Smith Hampton and Colliers CRE, enjoyed an afternoon’s racing. and over £30,000 was raised for SPARKS in the process.
Avanta Managing Director David Alberto said: “Last year’s event proved to be a huge success and we are looking forward to another fantastic day on 22nd September. While backing a horse is always a gamble with no guarantee of success, the event itself is a win-win scenario, with guests having the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful afternoon, network or simply relax among friends, and all the time raising money for an extremely worthwhile charity.”
Richard Dunwoody said: “The support Avanta is giving Sparks is absolutely brilliant. In today’s world the support of a go-ahead, socially-aware company like Avanta is vital to a charity like Sparks. Without that commitment, much of the cutting edge paediatric medical research Sparks funds all over the country simply wouldn’t get out of the starting gate. And that would be a tragedy, particularly when you realise that less than 1% of the NHS’s budget goes to paediatric medical research”.
He continued: “I’ve been a Sparks supporter for more than a decade and used my South Pole challenge to help raise funds for the charity. But the efforts of individual Sparks supporters can only do so much and the benefits of having a company like Avanta on board is priceless. The Avanta Race Day itself is also a perfect fit with the Sparks ethos of having fun but in a great cause. Causes don’t come any better than helping more babies to be born healthy and grow up healthy.”
The Sparks Race Day consists of six races, with guests enjoying the finest hospitality including champagne reception, four course lunch and charity auction. For further information, please contact Property Events on 01753 651177, or email: info@propertyevents.co.uk or visit website Click Here
Sparks is a charity which raises funds for pioneering research that has a practical, positive impact on the lives of babies and small children. In the UK, many important areas of paediatric research depend heavily on funding from charities like Sparks. The Sparks Race Day gives people the opportunity to support this really worthwhile charity.
