Avanta helps raise £15,000 for Sparks at Charity Race Day

Over 200 people from the property industry descended on Kempton Park for the annual Sparks Race Day, sponsored by Avanta, the serviced office company.

Guests were joined by a host of stars from the world of sport, including England rugby legend and most capped English player in history, Jason Leonard and England winger, Dan Scarborough, snooker great John Virgo, TV racing experts Mike Cattermole and Nigel Seeley and  Britain’s most famous stuntman Rocky Taylor, of 007 and Harry Potter fame .

Over £15,000 was raised on the day for the charity Sparks, which which raises funds for pioneering research that has a practical, positive impact on the lives of babies and small children.

The event was supported by a wide range of companies including Kenmore, Instant Offices and Colliers CRE. In addition to packed afternoon’s racing and networking, guests enjoyed a champagne reception and lunch, and had an opportunity to bid for star prizes in an auction hosted by Charlie Ross.  Lots included a luxury holiday in Barbados, a day at the races with the Channel 4 Racing team, dinner with Sir Steven Redgrave and the opportunity to be Voice of Racing Sir Peter O’Sullevan’s special guest at his famous charity lunch at the Dorchester, the sport’s premier awards event.

Avanta’s Chief Executive, David Alberto, said: “Every penny raised from the day is going towards improving the lives of sick children, so we’re immensely grateful for everyone’s support and generosity.  Win or lose with the bookies, supporting such a worthwhile charity as Sparks makes everyone a winner.

Colleen La Fontaine from Sparks said: “Avanta have been fantastic supporters of Sparks for several years now, and have worked tirelessly to help raise invaluable funds to support research into conditions that prevent children from being born healthy.  The Race Day, which galvanises the property industry into supporting us, would not happen without Avanta and we are very grateful for their continued support.”

Avanta has grown its business in London, where it currently operates 10 business centres in prime locations across the West End, Midtown and the City.  In order to keep up with increasing demand, further centres are expected to open in the capital over the next month.  This year the company has embarked on a major expansion drive into India and the Middle East, paving the way to open a number of new business centres in Delhi and Mumbai, with further offices expected to open in Bangalore and Dubai.

In the UK or overseas, Avanta’s appeal to occupiers is being able to offer highly flexible, unbranded office space tailor made to meet the requirements of the individual business.  This flexibility is underpinned by competitively priced and transparent fixed-costs, so occupiers can account for every penny they are spending on their office needs.

The formula attracts small and medium sized businesses to FTSE 250 companies alike.  The theory that a small business occupier and a major corporate want the same thing and are largely driven by location, quality and price, is central to Avanta’s business
