Avanta is supporting a team of intrepid adventurers from Instant, the
flexible office specialist, who are taking on the gruelling task of cycling from Parmoor, just outside Marlow, to Paris. The 3 day challenge at the end of June will see them cover some 230 miles ensuring both a mental and physical test for all involved. The team consists of 45 employees and friends, who will aim to reach Brighton on day one, take the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe and pass through northern France on day two and arrive in Paris late on day three.
The team are collectively raising money for the Ugandan based charity, 1morechild. 1moreChild provides school fees, 3 meals a day, school uniforms, school supplies, medical supplies, tutoring and a football club for children who don’t have families of their own. They currently rent three houses in Jinja, two boys homes and one girls, which accommodate the children that don’t have families, and act as a ‘youth centre’ for those who live in the slum village of Masese.
Rob Hamilton of Instant commented “We’re all very much looking forward to the challenge although not without a degree of trepidation. It’s a huge undertaking but we’re all encouraging each other to get fit and ready for it. We’re overwhelmed by the support we’ve received and are delighted to have raised over £13,000 already for our nominated charity, 1morechild. A big thank you to Avanta for their generous contribution and we look forward to wearing our team shirts, with their logo on, during the 3 day event.”
Geraint Evans, sales and marketing director at
Avanta commented “Well done Instant for taking on such a massive challenge. We wish them all the best and look forward to hearing of their success at the end of the month.”
