With the season for giving fast approaching, Avanta Managed Offices is supporting The Story of Christmas Appeal 2011, the leading festive charity event of the British property industry and corporate sector.
Founded in 1978, the appeal has raised more than £4 million over the years for charities supporting disadvantaged children, young people and the homeless. Fundraising culminates in a spectacular event at the start of Christmas time in the form of a service of nine lessons and carols at St George's Hanover Square, followed by a champagne reception and charity auction for principal guests.
Last year the event involved the Story of Christmas's President, Dame Judi Dench CH DBE, and Deputy President, Aled Jones, as well as a host of other distinguished readers including Daniel Craig, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ian Hislop, Geoffrey Palmer OBE, The Rt Hon Michael Portillo, Dan Stevens, June Whitfield CBE, and others.
Festive music for the service will be provided by the Choristers and Layclerks of Westminster Cathedral, the Band and Fanfare Trumpeters of the Irish Guards and special guest soloists in what is a truly magnificent start to the Christmas season.
“Avanta has long been a supporter of children’s charities and the great work they do for children with medical and social problems and with the festive season almost upon us there can surely be no better time to get involved with, and support, such a worthy cause, ” comments Alan Pepper, Avanta’s chief executive. “To help with the organisation of this year’s appeal we are providing free office space and support services to The Story of Christmas Appeal.”
Attendance at the event is by invitation only and limited to major supporters of the Appeal. For information about supporting the appeal, please visit www.socappeal.com or email info@socappeal.com
