Hammersmith

Hammersmith is a highly popular business location in West London. It lies 6 miles west of central London, next to the A4 trunk road, which heads West to Heathrow and eventually Bath and Bristol.

Getting there

Few places in London are more accessible because Hammersmith is one of the capital’s major transport hubs.

The Piccadilly line passes through, providing a fast, direct link to Heathrow Airport and the centre of town, whilst the District line connects with popular commuter areas such as Ealing, Richmond and Wimbledon, as well as destinations throughout East London.

The Hammersmith & City line also terminates at Hammersmith and links directly to the City financial district, threading North of the centre, via destinations such as Paddington, Euston and Kings Cross.

Little wonder Hammersmith is popular with employees and employers alike. Many companies, including Coca Cola, Disney, Bechtel, AOL UK, Sony Ericsson and L’Oreal, have their UK offices in Hammersmith and of course many more are close by.

Working in Hammersmith

Hammersmith’s centre is focused on Lyric Square, where Avanta has its business centre and Group Headquarters.

This is adjacent to Hammersmith Broadway, which has a large shopping centre and leads to the main underground station, a minute or so’s walk away.

There are numerous places to eat and meet in Hammersmith, including traditional pubs, smart wine bars and a good sprinkling of restaurants (including the ubiquitous Pret a Manger on Lyric Square).

Excellent transport links help with commuting and if you are on business you can be in London’s prime commercial districts or out to the airport in minutes.

At the end of the day you can also feed the soul, by taking in a play at the Lyric Theatre or a world class gig at the Hammersmith Apollo (formerly the legendary Hammersmith Odeon).
